Instructions to make Siddu:
  1. In a bowl take some lukewarm water, add sugar and yeast & keep it for 10 minutes to activate yeast.
  2. After 10 minutes, in a bowl mix all the ingredients of dough & make soft dough. Rest it for 1 hours.
  3. Soak poppy seeds in water for 1/2 an hour.
  4. In a mixer grind all the ingredients of filling except walnuts & make coarse mixture. Transfer in a bowl and add walnuts and mix.
  5. After one hours roll the dough like a roti, put filling on half side & fold the remaining half on it to make semi circle, lock by applying water and seal it with the help of fork. Rest it for 15 minutes.
  6. Now steam for 20 minutes.
  7. Decorate with coriander leaves and pomegranate seeds and serve hot with pomegranate chutney & pure ghee.
  8. For chutney, take out pomegranate seeds, keep aside 2 tablespoons seeds and grind remaining in mixer. Sieve the juice and transfer in a wok. Boil the juice with other ingredients for 5 minutes. Remove from flame and add remaining pomegranate seeds and serve with hot siddu.
